35 Life-Giving Scriptures to Bless a New Home
Using scriptures to bless a new home is truly an awesome experience. Below you’ll find a list of life-giving scriptures you can write on the walls of your house, room by room.
Building a home is an exciting time! There are selections to be make, paint colors to choose, and all the while you are dreaming of your family’s future memories there.
A great way to help the transition (as well as an awesome family experience) is to grab the sharpies and write bible verses on the framing of your future home. We recently went through the home building process and one of my favorite memories from this time was walking our home in the framing process, going room to room, and writing scriptures on the future walls.
I will be completely honest, and say I hear lots of people say this is a cheesy thing to do. But, in my opinion it’s pretty powerful and why not? You are literally walking around your future home with your family and writing God’s word all over it….I’ll take that “cheesy” any day. 😉
All the scriptures we used are listed below by room. There is a also a free printable for you to print off and take with you to your build as you and your family bless your new home.
This post is all about scripture to bless a new home.
Why write bible verses on your home?
When you take this time with your family, you’re setting the intentions for the future space and giving it to God. It is a symbolic way to hand over your worries and also asking God to bring you favor as a family. This certainly won’t “struggle proof” your life but it is pretty cool to take this step together as a family unit and see the peace it brings everyone involved.
What You’ll Need:
You will really only need some sharpies (my favorite bulk pack linked here) and a list of the scriptures you want to write in each room. Check out the printable linked below! Feel free to print it out and take it with you to bless your home.
Definitely not a necessity, but a box of donuts to enjoy and a camera for memories while you do this isn’t a terrible idea. 😉
